Mycenium is growing ! question

Hi all, I inoculated my 9 jars 7 days ago, about 3 days ago I put them in a tub in tub to get a good temperature going, today I noticed 3 off my jars has small amount off white fuzz growing!!!

My questions is

1. Will Mycennium grow even when the jars are densely packed ? I didnt push my vermuclite and brown rice flour compact or anything but it seems to be pretty dense anyway...just wondering if the mycennium will grow even in limited gaps..or does the mycenicum feed on the brown rice flour which creates space for itself when the flour is consumed, is this how it works?

2. I inoculated near the top and in the center off the jars will the mycenium make its way around the whole jar ?

3. Its been 7 days , how many more days do you think I should wait...7-14 days ?

thanks all, this is my first grow and im happy to be seeing some fuzz at least

Sounds like you're in good shape.. If you didn't compact the substrate, don't worry about that.. I would monitor the temp where they are tho - you don't want that above 80..

there is no specific time line or date for colonization, if that is what you are looking for.  It seems like you are on the right track though.  Once the outside of the cakes is fully colonized, the inside should finish 3-4 days after.  To be safe it doesn't hurt to wait an extra week after you believe they are 100% colonized.

Sometimes it can take a week + to see growth, if it's growing from the inside. If it takes that long to see growth, it will explode and be very thick from the start (when you first spot the growth). If not, it can be thin and fuzzy for a while, but as long as they don't stall or get bacillus the whole jar will colonize.

If you can't tell when it's fully colonized (takes practice to spot) then just wait until the BRF shrinks up a little and you will know.

Don't let the outside temp get above 80, as the jars produce heat themselves and anything over 83 or so slows growth and can cause wet spots.

Not to be annoying but the word is Mycelium.

Just wait until all the outside surface is white, then one week more to allow it to consolidate, and after that birth, dunk and roll and place in your fruiting chamber.

It will take however long it takes.
