Issue with Myco-bag Air Exchange
    #919461 - 09/30/02 01:00 PM (21 years, 5 months ago)

I currently have 8 myco-bags colonizing, and they are colonizing at an extremely slow rate. 3 are fully colonized and should be filling up with gases and expanding the bag, but they aren't. They are free-standing and nothing is suppressing bag expansion.

I want to inject some air into the bags, what would be the best way to do this?? Should I use an empty syringe? Or should I open the bags, put more air in and then close them back up?

If I open the bags, should I blow in them from my mouth? Would that be more contaminate-free? And how can I insure that the air is free of contaminates??

WHATEVER YOU DO, PLEASE DO NOT BLOW IN THE BAG FROM YOUR MOUTH! i have noticed the same, so i simply opened the bags as soon as first pins formed and placed it in a terrarium. first flush worked beautifully (pics have been posted - almost 500 gs fresh!), although the second appears delayed, still have not figured out why, possibly overdunking)
