valerian in dog toy

my dog has been stealing the little catnip filled mice from our cats, and recently i heard both dogs and cats LOVE valerian, so i filled them with powdered valerian root instead.

THE PETS ARE GOING NUTS!!

both the cats and the dog absolutely love valerian.

its funny, our dog will attack the shit out of it and seriously make some crazy snorting sounds, probably inhailing the powder, and then get all glassy-eyed and go to sleep.

Reminds me of when I was living in a place with 3 cats. One day, I decided to mix some other herbs in with their regular old catnip. There was valerian, damiana, chamomile, mugwort, and skullcap mixed in. The cats didn't suspect a thing at first and wound up getting completely fucked up. One of the cats was just staring into space, looking like he was tripping. The others were stumbling and knocking into shit, moving slow, and acting aggressive but in a paranoid way. Their reactions just seemed 'off' from what was normal. After that, the cats wouldn't try any catnip I gave them for awhile, even though there was nothing in it. I think they had a psychedelic experience, kitty style.
