Do you guys give catnip to your cats?

I'm thinking of buying a cat and was wondering if you guys ever let your cat trip on catnip?

Yup.  Just gets your cat horny.  It's an analogue of the male pheromone.  Some male cats get off on it too though.  Some female cats don't.  Not sure why, but yeah. :grin:

I've given my pet rat a weed cookie before and he was just laying down on the floor rolling around all day it was funny.

My cat will follow you everywhere and be all over you if you have weed. Most cats love catnip, mine don't.:shrug:

Animals can't choose to do drugs. It's like being a child who is dosed shrooms without knowing what to expect. It's basicly animal abuse. But do as you like it's just my opinion.

I give my cat catnip but he usually just eats it and then goes about his business. Dumb fucking cat.

If the cat eats the cookie willingly then it's all good. If it sniffs it and walks away then don't force him to eat it. Some animals will actually go out of their way to find something to trip on.

I feel bad for that cat. It's obviously freaking out because it's clearly not comfortable with it's environment and 1 hit of acid for a cat would be like 15 hits for a person.

When I gave packy (my rat) the weed cookie he had already lived in my house for 3 months and was well attuned to his environment and I kept him in a place that he knows well.

If I was to give a cat shrooms I would give it like <0.5 grams.


And yes packy willingly ate the cookie and it smelled potently of weed so he knew it wasn't a regular cookie i bet.

That doesn't make any sense.
Animals will eat something that smells tasty to them willingly. It's not gonna have any fucking clue that it will get fucked up.

Beyond that many house pets do stupid shit over and over again even when they don't like the result so saying it goes back for more doesn't really make it okay in my mind.

If it eats it once then comes back for more knowing what it will do then it obviously likes it. If it doesn't then it won't touch it, simple as that.

I have a friend with a pet dog that takes shrooms all the time and when it does it's always wagging it's tail and rolling around clearly having a good time.

Packy was also clearly having a good time, when packy is scare or pissed off hes always shaking wicked bad and acting skiddish.

We had a dog that ate garbage all the time then had to go outside and eat grass because his stomach was upset.

I'm not saying animals can't or don't like drugs I just don't think it's right to give them any.

And this argument has run it's course. It always devolves into stupid anecdotal evidence.
"My dog follows me around whenever I smoke and puts his head in my lap".
"Yeah well my cat runs away from me when I start to pack a bowl".
I think people give animals way too much credit.

I don't think any of those pros and cons make up for the impact that psychedelic drugs would have on an animal.

If a dog takes acid he won't forget it and if he doesn't like it he will not take it willingly again.

Chocolate tastes really good and its just a myth that it's bad for animals.

It's no worse for them than it is for humans.

Weed on the other hand tastes really bad and my rat tried it, clearly loved it and I garuntee if I gave him another weed cookie he would eat it and love it again.

The rat medicine I give packy is supposed to taste good but I need to put it in his mouth because he refuses to eat it because it always gives him diareaha, hes a smart rat and he knows what he likes.
