Obligatory 'is this contamination' question...
    #910786 -

Hi everyone, ive been perusing this site for a while and have gone as far as having two casings with sterilized potting soil going. Ive got them in a fruiting environment now and what i'm seeing is very fuzzy thickish white stuff poking out from under the casing and growing out a little more everyday.

I've done the research and checked the FAQ's and i dont believe it's cobweb, its not grey, but i havent seen any pics which really show a close up of this stage of the game, so i just want to get a consensus of am i on the right track. unfortunately i cant provide pics - but again, its very bright white thick cottony growth, not slimy with tiny sort of tendril-like...tendrils. they arent spreading across the top of the casing, just popping out from underneath everywhere. it's been about 4 days now...

one of the casings has a tiny seedling of some plant actually sprouting..weird...

everything sound good?

temp is..oh 70 degrees, humidity is 95-100% (i barely need to mist them).

thanks for your input, or if anyone can direct me to pics they think might be applicable please do so.

this is an exhaustive site, a real treasure.

keep on keepin on.

FSY

From what it sounds like, I think its mycelium, which means you are on the right track. The only thing I would advice is for the casing not to be in the fruiting chamber. The temps should be higher, say mid 80's. Wait until the casing is fully, or nearly full colonising, then put it in fruiting conditions.
