Agaricus Bisporus Grow Log *Pics*
    #9075106 -

I have grown a few edibles at home, newish to this forum as far as registration. However I have lurked for quite a while.

Besides reading a lot of information on here. I have read a few great books, so most of the time I feel like I know what I'm doing and/or talking about:

Mushrooms Demystified
Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms
Mushroom Cultivator

For anyone wanting to know anything about mushrooms, I highly recommend the above books and of course the SEARCH FEATURE.

Feel free to make any suggestions or comments

On with the Grow Log:

Agaricus Bisporus (Crimini)

Manure/Straw compost cased with Peat/CaCO3

Basically yes the immature mushrooms are typically considered Button, then Crimini, then Portobello when they fully open. They are your common mushroom, I've grown them a few times my wife likes to cook with the fresh ones.

Colonization from my grows occurs at room temperature and fruting between in the mid to high 60s its usually about 68 degrees where I keep these.

In the bag lined tub, I've gotten up to 5+ flushes. I got a culture and help from a friend of mine and I plan on creating my own cultures

so cloning and lc seems to be the way to go. I have next to no success with lc in cube cultivation.

From watching dirty jobs. They like the same sub as cubes. I have some store bout mushies in the frig now and was going to try to cultivate them.

I couldn't put them in a blender and add them to past hpoo as spawn could I?

colonization of what grain?? or lc to substrate?

Shit, I used the PF tek to start my Agaricus! They are probably the easiest edible to grow! :2cents: What I did is buy some fresh buttons if your store has them where you can pick them individually (not already packaged) then peel of the veil, and print that bad boy! I also started them on wbs, but there was a sale on brf so i decided to nocc up a few jars with brf/verm. They are pretty much like growing cubes in the beginning, very fun!!! Good luck!
