You have 4 pressure cookers! Holy shit, man. How on earth did you end up with 4 pressure cookers. For most people, it would be a boring storry of wedding gifts, and attic antiques, but I'll bet not from MOE's crazy ass. I bet he kicked a nazi ass for one, rescued a dog from a burning building, and had one donated to him from the police department.
I have 2. 1 doesn't work. see, kinda boring, but i'm not Moe, you can't expect much.

Hey MOE - How many quarts can your pressure cooker hold?? Is it a small one like 6 qts or a massive 21 qt?

Oh GOd !

I can see it now. Moe's Tech! Ok let me see if I got this straight.

Step 1. Go out and get yourself a cheap (goodwill)(salvation army)etc. pressure cooker.

Step 2. Prepare the substrate....enough to fill the cooker, in the usual manner......add some water (1/4 to 1/2 cup?)

Step 3. Pressure cook for normal time (15-20 min for what? 45 minutes.

Step 4. Let cool.

Step 5. Inoculate through cooker hole with 2 12cc syringes (mycelial water). Don't forget to cover the hole.

Step 6. Put it away and come back in about 3-4 weeks then:

Step 7. Plop out the Cake.

Moe's Tech! Moe you Rock!

I'm suprised I didn't stumble over this thread earlier! That is one cool idea. 24 quart pressure cooker. Isn't that like 96 half pints? Shit, half full it would yeild the same as almost 50 half pint jars. Just pop it out and cut it up. You dont have to mess with any of that half pint jar setup either. You could case that stuff and get even more. Christ, you could slice off sheets of the stuff with a long bread knife. I think I could do without my pressure cooker for three weeks to give this one a try. I NEED to give this one a try!

i dont see how on earth it could start pinning since no light is getting into the pressure cooker, the reason they start pinning early is cause they get light

I wonder how in a flyin' feck did you allow for perfect cook time to boil off the perfect amount of water from the substrate? That is some kick ass stuff, definitley Stoner smart. I was thinking about this just now, I wonder, I don't have quite as good luck so how about putting in a usual amount of water and placing a container which fits into the PC without touching the sides ofcourse. With an open top on the container so you can still innoculate with the same method. It would decrease yields a bit, but with a well fitting container not too much, it would also make it a tad easier with the water concentrations.

all i can think of is that somehow your cakes got light prolly before you ever left, we all pull our jars out into the light to look at them, ill bet it is enough light to start them fruiting, the reason they didnt start pinning before you left was because they simply werent ready IMHO

I have often encountered cubies pinning after incubating in total darkness. It never has been a uniform pinn set however.

I think the pressure cooker thing is too kewl, but it worries me greatly that there is a strong potential for a mishap. You could look at covering your substrate with cheese cloth or something...Kids Please Don't Try This At Home!!!

Hey Moe...Keep...your...wife...AWAY...from the...pressure cooker!!!
