quick question for ya moe...

i am really interested in trying this and I don't wanna fuck it up

did you just dump the substrate into the bottom of the cooker, or did you set on something or what? It seems to me that it would get burnt and stuck to the bottom if it wasn't in some kind of double boiler setup.

also, you should deffinatly post some pics.

MOE, how did you empty the water from the cooker without breaking the seal. If you didnt empty the water wouldnt that be too much moisture for mycelliumm to grow in and possibly harbor contams.

This may not apply to a material like vermiculite and brownrice flour, but I must point out a danger with cooking stuff in this manner.

Boiling can splash material over the vent hole in the pressure cooker, effectively blocking it. This can cause the detonation of the pressure cooker. If you have a guage and watch the cooker close, it may not be a problem. I know that this has happened with applesauce and bean soup (lentil I believe). Very messy.

Hey Moe! that large cake would make a cool gift to a fellow shroomer. instead of making a birthday cake one could make a large pressure cooker cake to give to a shroomer friend! they could take it home and put it in a growing chamber. It would be a gift that would keep on giving!!!!

How did you stop the bottom from gettin burnt? If you could make a plexglass lid for your pot could you turn the pressure cooker into a terrium and grow in the same pot you cook in.
