you should be fine my jars have gotten up to like 96 one time cuz my a/c unit broke just let them chill thell be fine

the jars probably didn't heat up hot enough themselves.  unless the temperature you read was inside with the grain.  Room temperature is my suggestion as well as others.  Put them in a deep tub, and close.  I monitor mine and they reach nearly 78 generating their own heat - so I lock the heat in a bit.  check every few days.

simply is better - what if you weren't home at the time

true i just put them on the top shelf of my closet and let them chill my cloeset gets to like 80 ambient temp and the jars themselves get to about 84 - 87 from the heat they generate theres no need to heat them just put them above the firdge or something warm

its fine ive had some jars take up to 4 weeks to even start from spores youll learn patience will be the best lesson to you in this hobby just let them do there thing check them in like 5 days toss the heater put them on a shelve somewhere with a warm ambient temp they'll start a watched pot never boils
