Low Temperature Fruiting
    #2334753 - 02/14/04 04:54 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

At how low a temp will cubensis fruit? The ambient temperature here is around 70...I realize this is about 5 degrees below optimum, but what will the consequences be? Smaller flushes? Slower flushes? Am I going to notice a big difference, or not really?

It'll still fruit at that temp, but it will be alot slower. But, Because they grow slower, they will be thicker and heavier in the end.

Yeah, a friend is growing right now, with temps between 68-71, it's been over a week and they're still not fully mature, but they keep getting bigger each day.

Cubensis fruit virtually year round in Florida. And, yes, it gets cold here occasionally. I've picked wild cubes at temps of 50-60F and I'm certain this is nowhere near the low limit. It's really more about moisture and humidity.

You'll do very well at 70.
And as a side benefit, the colder temp fruits are usually more potent!

I'm so ready to start growing. I've shroomed twice and loved it to no extent. --Mindgames
