tree stump shrooms

today i found a bunch of shrooms on and around a tree stump in my yard they have a pirplish brown gills and the top is whitish tanish mostly tan towards the middle of the cap and same with stems whitish tan please help me id these i wanna know if theyre active

Take a spore print just for the hell of it, but they're not active. The only active mushrooms you'll find growing from tree stumps in NJ are possibly Gyms and Ps. caelurpes(sp?)... the description you gave doesn't match either one.

Your "boy" couldn't have picked a worse mushroom to fuck around with. Mushrooms that grow from wood can be deadly. If your buddy ate some Galerinas(which is very possible) he could have liver failure in a few days. Very very stupid. You better hope he doesn't start to get sick in a couple days, because he could need a new liver.

the shrooms were a dark purple bottom  like when u touched the gills ypud get pruple shit on ur hands also it was growing in a yard where lots of cats shit on nand they were on and around a tree stump  :confused:

It is gonna be really sad if your boy die's just because he thought he could get high. This is why on almost every page you fo on in the forum it tells you to read the mushroom faqs. It is there for a reason.
