Boletus edulis
Gomphus floccosus
There is a huge ganoderma probably 3 feet across on an old growth hemlock snag. I will have to get a picture of it when we hunt hedgehogs.

I wish i had a picture of the largest weilii patch i have found, it stretched for 50 yards or more.

That patch fruited for 4 years, each year growing smaller but still producing a massive amount of shrooms.

No they are not, i found at least 50 of these this year.

They are everywhere after the rain, a common mushroom for woodland hunters.

Yes, abuse- weiliiii is quite correct. I find at least 50-100 of these per season as well. I did realize what the species was originally, or I would not have said "yummy". That is, I never eat unidentified mushrooms- It just so happens that this particular specimen was over 12" in height and 8" in diameter, and these old guys pack some weight! That's why I included it in this thread. What book are you referring to?

Didn't know it was common in America.....

Evidence for my claim:

It'd be fantastic to find one of those over here :P nice pics mate.

Oh man. I never knew those were fungi. I always just assumed there were some kind of burl on a tree. I saw a ton of that in the rain forests of Trinidad.
