Gomphus floccosus
There is a huge ganoderma probably 3 feet across on an old growth hemlock snag. I will have to get a picture of it when we hunt hedgehogs.

I wish i had a picture of the largest weilii patch i have found, it stretched for 50 yards or more.

That patch fruited for 4 years, each year growing smaller but still producing a massive amount of shrooms.

Boletus michoacanus

On display at the 11th Annual Fungus Fair in Senguio, Michoacan, Mexico.  Aug 23.

This toxic, blue staining red pored bolete was over 12 inches in diameter.

Yes, abuse- weiliiii is quite correct. I find at least 50-100 of these per season as well. I did realize what the species was originally, or I would not have said "yummy". That is, I never eat unidentified mushrooms- It just so happens that this particular specimen was over 12" in height and 8" in diameter, and these old guys pack some weight!That's why I included it in this thread. What book are you referring to?

Oh man. I never knew those were fungi. I always just assumed there were some kind of burl on a tree. I saw a ton of that in the rain forests of Trinidad.
