well its not that slow but then again you might have been unsterile or somthing open it up and smell if it smell sour pitch it

Sometimes jars can take up to a month to fully colonize depending on the conditions provided.

Possibly a dud? I have had numerous duds from Spores101. Which is also why I never buy from them now. Plus the fact it took them 2 1/2 weeks to get the spores to me, as opposed to sporeworks which took... what, 4-5 days maybe?

Anyway, it could be a dud, just wait it out maybe start some new jars with another print. GL

EDIT - Also, it could be bacteria in your jars that is preventing colonization. Smell the substrate if you cannot see any visible signs of bacteria contamination. Sour = Throw

Its been 9 days and theres absolutely no visible mycelium...

Half pint jars, pftek method, pressure cooked, brown rice flower and all that. I used a syringe from The Hawks Eye. I am completely confident that I did everything right.

Some other info; Four holes per jar, 1/4 cc per hole, and the jars are in a room at 75 degrees F.

If I look really hard I can see litle clumps, but Im not sure if its just the wet rice flower clumped together or what, its not fuzzy looking to me though, and hardly noticeable. No jars are contaminated, I know that.

Again, NOTHING so far. I was told it would show up at 5 days. Whats the deal?

75? bring those temps up to 85 if you want to see somthing grow.
The Hawkseye B+ is a great strain. It should be growing by now even at 75. Raise those temps and watch it take off.

My 2500 cult post say 85-86. Some knowlegeable growers perfer 84. I like 85-86.

75 is slower. That is the answer. Slower, just like you are at 75 vs. 85.

i like 86 degrees. If i have large spawn bags ill start out at 86 but lower temps around 80 because the mycelium will make some heat as it colonizes. usually half way colonized ill drop to 80. just my own process.

Also, for the oriinal poster, just keep waiting. nothing may happen but just hold tight. I had a jar of grain take 2 weeks once while others showed signs after 3 days from a multispore inoculation and all jars were in the same environment. some spores take longer than others to germinate.

ive seen B+ take about two weeks to show mycelium.then two more weeks till full colonization. this is slow but not unheard of.

My comment should in no way be taken as knowledgable. As in I havn't started growing, but I've been reading like mad lately on this site.

How much (cc) did you put per hole?
Did you shake the syringe to make sure the spores were swimming?

I just thought of that because I am forgetful, and would probably forget to do that.

Humidity? Didn't look too wet or too dry, but you might know something more.

I suppose just do what everyone else said, up the heat and sit on your hands...

Some scientist or other proved that 86 is the miracle temp using controlled experiments. That doesn't mean you can't grow at 67. Think of the percentage increase in work it takes to go from your room temp to perfect temp vs. the benefits.

Colder is rumored to produce healthier stuff anyway. Like those healthy fucking Russians who live on vodka.

Bah. The point is that in your situation, you shouldn't bother. We are talking time, not quality, a resource you have to spare.

Much of the crap on this site is written by the same 20 somethings we are, only they are now pushing 60. Think of the time and money you have to burn chasing arbitrary perfection when you are kicking the retirement bucket.
