19 jars patiently waitig

Well I have 19 jars in the incubator as we speak. half are b+ and half of them arecambodian.I made 5 holes instead of the usual 4 and innoculated 1 cc at each site. So each jar has 5cc in a have a couple experiment jars with 12 and even 15cc in each. the jars are still taped and the tops are tight, the jars are also in their own ziplock and are sitting upside down in the incubator. any suggestions or commens on my work thus far, should there be a gas excange , if so how should I go about that? The perlite keeps it around 100 rh and the temp is always between 80-85 and very dark, considering its in my dark room.

Everything sounds good. Just sit back and wait until the jars are 100% colonized. Btw, 15cc sounds like a ton of spore solution for one jar. Watch those closely.

P.S.

Since they are still in the jar, you don't have to worry about 100% RH.

I had nothing to lose matts no contams so far, If the jar is sealed it is impossible for contams to get in. That was only an experiment, I plan on using 3cc from now on because my Syringes are 3cc and are in a sealed sterile package. Damn I couldn't refuse the offer 100 for 20.00. I'll just wait it out. I hate this part it's semi boring, I do have some jars showing signs of mycelium after only7 3 days so far.

i would agree, 15 ccs is a little too much over kill, really you shouldnt put over 2-3 ccs at the most (imo). plus you could be using that access to innculate more than 19 jars, and you wont really have to worry to much about contam.

you don't use drops! jesus, read the teks. you'll use a cc or 2 out of your syringe, if it's labeled you should use that, not a guess with "drops".

Please don't tell me you were planning on dropping the spore solution into the holes in your lid!  LMAO!  How do you think you're going to get the solution into the holes let alone get it past the dry verm barrier.  Please read the PF Tek again.. :grin:

Man I thaught I started this subject. Oh well I'll let you guys argue. Any how after 24 hours I had a shitload of growth in most of the jars, like I said I used alot because some jars were mushy. No contams no waste chill, cool. Any how they look great. Maybe We should ove over to grow log.

Dude, putting 15 cc in one hole is like putting $20 in a coke machine and not expecting any change, sure it will get you your coke, but you could've bought a whole lot more with your $19. Yeah, it'll grow, probably get contaminated, like matts said, but you could've done at least a dozen jars off of that one syringe. MORE JARS=MORE SHROOMS. It doesn't matter how fast that jar grows, its not gonna produce more shrooms because it has the same amount of substrate as a 1cc jar. Damn man, if you feel like getting rid of syringes, I know some people that would love to take them.

I stick the needle an inch deep and then let out a few drops per hole. I know how to insert the needle, it needs to go thru the dry verm of course. Just wondering how many drops in one cc but ill find out anyway.

You can't really count the drops, because you inject the solution into the substrate, just keep an eye on the plunger to see how far it has moved, thus how much solution you have used.

Why are you being a pain in the ass and keep talking about drops? Thats like going to the gas station and saying " I'd like 2000 drops on pump #4." Why do you insist on doing things the hard way when you can measure cc's on the syringe? You might as well weigh the spore solution on one of your scales.

4 days later here is a look at the 15cc b+ jar, surface looks 80% colonized no secrets given sorry, j/k my cambos are about 50% and My b+ are about 65% colonized outside surface as I see. They were the 5cc jars though. Now MY test pieces I lost one to green mold, oh well and the other 3 I did in a smokey unsterelized room and dirty needle still grow stong, but slow.

well I need to use 1cc for 4 holes and the syringe has lines after every cc. Ill have to push it so its 1/4 the way to the next line each time. pretty hard to control that way! thats the same as trying to weigh 1/4 grams on a whole gram scale!
