Pressure Cooker Score?
    #888751 - 09/17/02 01:43 PM (21 years, 6 months ago)

I know this isn't really directly related to cultivation, but somewhat indirectly, I just got a 921A A pressure cooker off ebay for $39. Is that decent or should I kick myself in the balls.

Ok, nevermind. I just searched ebay completed auctions and found the one you bought. I think you got a good deal. The weight system in the pic is sortof odd to me.

here?s your pc. be careful about giving info about ebay auctions. i could have pretended to be a buyer or the seller of this cooker asking for an address confirmation and busted your ass.

Nope no shipping, shipping works out to like $17 So in total around $55. A little better than $130, but this one is not new. Damn now you guys got me all scared, wait, I think I see flashlights out front. Gotta go. hehe.

lol. Yah, i did this same thing to a guy who bought some ballasts and light set ups. Next time someone does this i'm going to register a hotmail name with the seller's name and say my e-mail address crashed, and i lost there address. Then i'll post the fake e-mail address, and tell them i got there info.

It is an "old" one. Around 1935. There is no weight system. It has a pressure gauge, pressure relief spring type toggle & a pop/off brass fitting safety device.

You didnt do bad or good. If it seals Okay &  the gauge works? You paid a fair price, all total.

I have a 941 from the same era. Works as well as the day it was new.

you might check to see if AA has replacement valves for them. if it's a spring, i'd imagine it's warn out by now. they may have a weight system you can retrofit in.

Yo, RoadKill................

I don't disagree. I'm just frugal.

LOL, I got an old Kerr, built the same as an AA, with gauge, pop/off safety & spring relief steam toggle that holds 5 quart jars for $10 at a garage sale.

I don't need it. But, it was a steal. So, I bought it. Maybe I will have a contest & give the sucker away?

Alright, here's the newbie coming out. I have never seen, worked with, or been around a PC before. (you all should laugh right about now). But I assume that I will be able to tell if it seals good if no steam escapes. And I also assume that if the gauge works, the pressure will go up as the temp rises and plateu's off when the temp is constant. Well am I close, or do I need to kick myself in the balls, again?
