That movie was annoying, not scary.  The only way to make it watchable was to turn hit the mute button.  Whoever did the soundtrack should be shot, or better yet, sentenced to eternity in hell listening to fingernails scraping against a chalkboard.

For most scary, I would have to agree with The Exorcist followed by Alien.  I watched both as a child and had to sleep with the lights on for weeks.  (The Exorcist has lost its magic, but when it first came out, there had never been anything like it done before.  It was truly terrifying at the time.)

Seriously?  I liked the soundtrack, from what I can recall--Clint Mansell does generally good work.  (Requiem for a Dream, anyone?)  Massive Attack's Angel was used to excellent effect in the movie, IMO.

Yes, seriously.  Though perhaps sound effects rather than soundtrack would be more appropriate.  It has been a while, but I remember the constant screeching noises being very unpleasant.

Yeah, I hated that movie... I always fear something like that happening to me.  Open water not knowing what's under you is very freaky.....especialy when you know there's sharks abound.

It's funny that people mention It use to scare them when they were little... I first saw It when I was six... Never saw the end of It until I was like 15 (kind of a lame ending!)! I used to be wicked scared of drains in public bathrooms because of the shower scene! I'd never go into the toilet stall that you could see the drain in!

IT didnt scare me one bit, yet my dad was terrified of it, and he was a grown man when he saw it. Exact same thing with "Alien" and the sequel.

Im not reading the rest of this thread. Silent hill was INSANE. I didnt think so at first, but during my first acid trip i had a silent hill moment were everything got black and there was no light anywhere- like when the siren went off. I was really fried so i assumed i was blacking out, but i didnt want to lay down because there might be little demonds or that guy that could rip off your skin and shit.

I wasnt scared because acid is the best! But it happend like 3 times that night and ever since i have been scared nut-less by even the mention of that movie.  :alert:
