Legality of mailbox stuffing
    #8879476 -

Does anyone know where i could find out if it is legal to insert fliers into mailboxes?

I would just leave them on doors, but the fliers are regarding a tenants union due to illegal actions taken by the property manager of the homes which I wish to leave the fliers for. I want to make sure these fliers are received by the tenants, and not removed by the property manager and her staff.

Thanks

it's illegal to put anything into a mailbox unless you're a postal carrier or the box holder

if you have a video camera stick the fliers on the doors, video
the property managers taking them off, take them to court

I get door hangings, and bundles of shit in bags at my doorstep. I waited to see who was doing this every morning for a whole week, and i was suprised to find out some 12 year old girl on a bike was doing it. I asked her to stop, and she did.

Now junk mail from every single buisness i have heard of pisses me off. I got my mail yesterday and my mailbox had 10 things in it, but not one thing wasn't junk mail!!!

Thanks... I think we will tape them to the door and then record them being removed... That was a great idea.

I wonder why they'd go through the trouble?  Its the same legality as putting stuff into the mailbox.

But that rule is so stupid anyways.  Its my box, fuck the government.  If I want fedex to put something into the box I bought than the hell with them.

When I cut grass in my neighborhood, I would just roll them up in rubberbands and wedge them in the space between the flag and the mailbox. Never got any flak for it in the 3 years that I did it.

that mail box doesnt belong to you, it's on the states right
of way for starters (if it's at the road), second, it's the
post offices box once you've mounted it

The right of way is not the state's property, its only a license to use for the state and certain utilities.  At least in my state...

That's my point though.  I bought it.  I put it up.  It should be mine to either prohibit or allow anyone to use.
