ok well it's my little nephew, his parents and my other brother are in seattle watching a show kind of thing. kinda like ACL in austin texas.

my mom is watching after him and she is such a shitty fucking baby sitter. she diden't watch him go in my room and go in my closet and eat the sht out of perlite.

JK! he put about 4 handfulls in his mouth and just kinda spit it all out. I don't think he swallowed much at all.. maybe like a tablespoon of perlite at most. if not even that.

i think he will be ok, but call a doc anyway.  here's a link to give you a little more info about perlite.  it says it's non-toxic and "environmentally safe".  can't be too careful with kids though.  link here

perlite dust is extremely toxic if exposed to it frequently. if it is wet it wouldnt be a problem.

either way, it doesnt matter if he put a few handfuls in his mouth and spit it out. he will live to die another day.

im not sure what the internal implications might be, but i cannot imagine the outcome will be good unless you get him to the hospital. its basically porous glass, he might as well have eaten fiberglass, it will cut up his insides and probably cause internal bleeding.
