I went downtown this afternoon to check out the happenings. there were some small gatherings of protesters. There were a lot of police decked out in riot gear.

mostly just a bunch of people buying up anything that said Obama on it. I even saw Obama thongs and panties for sale :grin:

there were a few people carrying anti-Obama signs and there were large trucks displaying pics of aborted fetuses, but it seemed that the discourse was civil.

i went to the DNC when it was in boston (2004), and it was a really negative vibe for me.  too much we vs. them mentality.
but, i guess it could be different this time.

i live in minneapolis, and the shit thats expected for the RNC...whoa...well i cant talk about it online, anyway, haha

im leaving on the 3rd, though, so ill only be around for it for a couple of days...then off to texas of all places, hahah
