went swimming for the first time....
    #8781946 -

My mother used to make me wake up at 6am every day during every summer vacation so that i could jump in a feezing cold pool filled with dead bugs and learn how to swim. well 10 years later.. i was just thinking about how grateful i was that she made me do those lessons because i never knew when id end up swimming for my life in a lake after a boating accident... right?

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF PAAALEAAASEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

I put my well earned skills to the test today after getting really hot whille doing my casual target practise, i dropped a rope 20 feet down the cement wall of our aqueduct and rappeled down until i was knee high in "drinking water "  amyways, it took me a good 2 minutes to get used to the temperature until i finally let go and sank my whole body under and started to swim. I started with frontstroke which used to be very easy for me but i just couldn't kick my feet hard enough to keep the momentum so after that failure i decided to do breast stroke... i was able to swim for a full 40 feet before getting winded!! AHAHAHAHAH!!!!!  ooo lord, i failed so bad...  all my muscles ached after that pathetic swim.

this is like nothing ive done before, i can run for quite awhile, i can lift heavy weights for long reps but swimming is something out of my control... it just takes so much strength out of you its nuts!

anyways... id love to shove it in my mothers face that i can't swim for shit after all those paid lessons and horrible mornings she put me through but i dont think it would mean anything to her... maybe it does to you!

I would have started drugging her or slipping her ex lax so I could sleep past six during summer vacation.

Bit of advise. When you first get in the water float on your back for a few minutes and relax. That way you're not so apprehensive and you will be able to take deeper breaths and swim farther. Back float is also good for when you get tired, you can rest while floating on your back, just remember to take deep breaths and don't exhale completely, that way you stay buoyant( if you exhale completely you will sink like a stone!) Oh yea, by the way, you might want to find somewhere else to practice swimming, most states have laws about swimming in the "drinking water" and if you get caught, you can face some serious fines and possible jail time.

the trick is to breathe in the little air pockets on the very bottom of the pool. thats how my brother taught me. my memory always gets a little fuzzy around here but it must work cuz you ALWAYS wake up outside the pool again!
he says everyone swims that way

thanks for the warning... i was also warned by a fellow fisherman that my actions would be considered to be a terrorist threat if i where caught by authorities... go figure,  swimming in a fukin poluted river filed with muskrat and eels will make me a terrorist! what has this world come to?

I was kidding anyway.  I mean, its your mom, I don't think I could do that to my mom.
But I'd be sure to bitch about being woken up super early to swim in cold water every day, during summer.
