Mushrooms on Horse Manure, Help Please!
    #8778183 -

A buddy of mine owns several horses and recently we have been noticing alot of different kinds of mushrooms growing both straight off of horse manure, and on the horse-fertilized soil around the manure. I live in Jacksonville, Florida, and the rain and humidity aswell as sunlight has been perfect for field mushrooms. 3 of the mushroom species we found bruised blue which I know is a big indicator of a psyclobin containing shroom. And every species we found had a hollow stem. Ive been trying to find all the info around the web that I can aswell as identify the species and am almost ready to give them a try but Im still a bit concerned..

My main question is, how many species of poisonous mushrooms common to horse manure, if any, bruise blue? And is the risk factor as minor as I assume while taking the bluing into consideration?

One of the caps resembled a cubie, with a light brown/orange cap and a film over the gills. One cap was multicolored grey, brown, and yellowish. Another has a thin stem, is grey, and grows in bunches on the soil around the manure with a bell-like cap.

Any feedback would be very appreciated, thank you.

Ill post pictures when I take them.

Psilocybe cubensis commonly grows from horse poop, but so do probably 7 or more other types of mushrooms.. if it looks like a cube and bruises blue its a cube..

Learn to ID cubes here http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/8045055/an/0/page/0 most of the pictures from my pictorial were for horse field cubes.

Have fun and take a pictures.
