any of you still listen to Metallica?

i've just got a call from a friend, he told me excitedly "i've listened to the entirety of "and justice for all" today... really liked it except the parts where he sings" :smirk:

i've been a fan all my life (up to Garage inc... after that i never bothered)
seen them only once but it was worth it...

these days apart from being technologically challenged meaning i don't really have HOW to listen to music most of the time even if i did i'm not sure i'd be listening to metallica (that being said Kill'em all is playing for me right now) sooo...
i'm wondering; any of you still listen to metallica?

I have the same viewpoint as your friend. I love their thrash, it's wicked, but I hate dude's voice. Kirk Hammett can really shred it up.

I stopped listening to Metallica about 6 years ago or so. However I grew up on Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, etc.

Opeth are good, I agree.  I wouldn't say they beat metallica though they are both good for their own style.
