Very nice.  Anything under the Bollingen Series is of the utmost quality.  I've been making it my goal to purchase anything I see with the label.  I've gotten some great stuff so far.

How would you rate the translations, supposing you've read other translations of course.

I have the Wilhem translation as well. I've looked at one of the other heavy weights in I-Ching translations:

http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Ching-Definitive-Translation-Taoist/dp/0892811455/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1218687443&sr=1-1

And I've been liking it more than my Wilhem...but I don't feel like spending more money on books and having one is enough for now.

It is my belief that your oracle will conform to the translation you have so it doesn't really matter in the end anyway.

The only two translations I've ever given a lot of look at were my own and this one http://www.amazon.com/Original-Ching-Oracle-Complete-Concordance/dp/1905857055/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1218728578&sr=1-11

I do enjoy mine quite a lot, it's an older translation and personally I just enjoy the way it reads. However, I bought an ex interest the link above and I really liked it as well. Very easy to read. Sadly it was a waste of money as I don't think she has any REAL desire to use it to its full appreciation. but whatever, you can lead the horse to water...

I tried it and it didn't do much for me. The answer did not seem to have much to do with the question. I could make some connections but it was a stretch.

You have your own translation? As in - you know Chinese? That would be awesome...I really want to learn Chinese.

Sometimes I wonder if we're not getting nearly the same impact from the I-Ching as someone reading it in it's original language would. Especially since, as far as I understand it, Chinese basically lends a new way of looking at the world and thus a new way of thinking to the speaker. One could argue that the Tao would direct even the foreigner to truth, but the Tao dictated the truth into Chinese and not other languages in the first place...
