Best WBS for WBSF?

im moving on from BRF cakes onto WBSF cakes and was wondering what i should look for in my WBS that i will grind up to WBSF? i remember reading that you want millet in it,and the fewer sunflower seeds the better...anything else i should look for? price isnt a big deal to me today,so if theres a higher priced WBS that works great im willing to spend...THANKS ALL,except the assholes lol,you know who you are

You can soak the bird seed with sunflower seeds, and the sunflower seeds rise to the top. It's easy to separate at that point. Pennington is what I use for WBS don't know about flour though.

The cheapest bulk WBS will do.  No need to spend on "EXOTIC" WBS.  You'll want to sift through the seed to take the sunflower seeds out, but at the same time, if you're going to grind it up, it wouldn't make a difference.  In fact, it would probably help since they contain linoleic fatty acids that are beneficial to the grow.

thanks guys...so since imma coffeegrind it up into a flour its not a bad idea to keep? should i soake the WBS in water before grinding up,wont this make the WBS soggy-ish like cooked rice?

Treat it like BRF.  The only difference would be to wait a day after you load it in the jars to PC it.

Yes I am serious. As a long time fisherman, we use WBS for chum.  I tell you what, that smell could peel wall paper!!

Prisoner #1 answered perfectly..  Peal walpaper?  Holy crap.... What kind of WBS is that!  If you don't have a PC, then stick with BRF until you can come up with 30.00 and buy a small PC.  Bottom line is that WBS contains too many bacterial endospores.  YOU NEED A PC TO MESS WITH GRAINS IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM.

If your going to spawn to bulk, rye berries or WBS both work well. Spawn prepared with grains breaks apart easily, making your bulk tray easier to assemble.

I personally think the smell is rather pleasant. It's not an overpowering smell. More like when your cooking long grain rice, (another grain), on the stove top.

I've read many times where people are concerned about PC'ing their grains when someone stops by their house unannounced. I don't know why. I imagine this conversation would go something like this: "Hey, what are you cooking on your stove?", David asked as he stepped into the kitchen. "Mind your own god damned business.", was BrandNewbie's reply. End of THAT conversation.

If you want to grind the WBS into a flour and use it for a PF style cake grow, it would work. It's probably not worth the extra effort is all.
I think that's the point that the posters that you cussed out were trying to make. :goodluck:
