Automatic removal of ratings from banned users?

I think when people are banned their ratings should be removed. I know general ratings are just for fun, but it kinda sucks when trolls get banned and then make puppets to rate you again.

This has been tried before, have a look at the 'Similar Threads' list for some of the past discussions. Executive summary: when implemented, people actually lost more good ratings than bad, and requested that it be changed back.

No worries. :smile: Personally I think it's a good idea and I was in favor of the change, but like I said the majority of people didn't like it once they saw the actual results.

Why not just ban any ratings less than 5? Ebay have stopped negative ratings of buyers, so it's obviously the way to go. :wink:

In a related question:

how do I go about getting a rating removed?  I have a trade rating, but I've never traded.  I've asked the person who put it there to remove it but they won't (and the rating is obviously put there with malicious intent).  I don't care if it goes to my regular ratings, but I might actually want to trade one day and it's not cool for someone to purposefully fuck with my trade rating.

If you receive a false trade rating you should fill out a support ticket to get it removed, but in this case I took care of it for you.
