Sleeping disorder or laziness?
    #8662416 -

So, Lets just say dude will sleep for 14 hours a day if you let him, he will get up multiple times in the morning ranging from 8am then again maybe around 11 am, then around 2 and just keeps going back to sleep. Its not like its a couple times a week, its every freakin day.

Perhaps its a will problem to get the fuck out of bed and mow my damn lawn!

Perhaps its just the bud here is way to chronic to continue the normal functions of life (IE waking the hell up)

I dunnno some one shed some insight

Vitamin B12 can really help with energy and even help with sleep cycles. But naps are good if you can get away with them. I love to sleep a lot, but try not to overdo it now that I'm unemployed.

If it weren't for the bud comment I would have suggested he has hyperinsomnia. Some people with it sleep up to 23 hours  a day. Keep in mind the act of oversleeping makes you tired on its own. Its like you never fully wake up the rest of the day. Also no motivation/ overall lack of interest and excessive sleep patterns are a signs of depression so it could be that as well.

probably not a sleep disorder, more likely it's a combination of laziness and apathy, which tend to go hand-in-hand ... you don't necessarily seem to be depressed, but that also tends to be a cause of strange sleep routines like what you described ...

additionally, smoking too much dank will DEFINITELY mess with your sleep, and wakefulness too, for that matter.  but not everybody considers that a problem

It's not an energy problem if he is already getting plenty of sleep.  Sleeping too much can actually make you more tired.

Maybe he has nothing to look forward / a reason to get up, so he just goes back to sleep to pass the time?  Weed just makes it easier to go back to sleep.  If I'm excited to get up in the morning a little wake and bake doesn't slow me down, especially if I get plenty of sleep.  Need a reason to get up in the morning is what you need.

It's probably laziness.  Sleeping that much just keeps you tired.  Doesn't 'dude' have things he actually wants to do in life?  You know, things he has to be awake to do?

If I were dude I would try setting an alarm for 8 hours of sleep, get up when it rings, then keep busy all day.

Smoking weed doesn't usually help the energy levels, but some people manage to smoke weed all the time and still not be bums.

dude shouldnt blame problems on weed.

does he have a job? how does he afford this weed?

I smoked weed a lot, and never felt the need to do that.

I did in highschool go sleep after school a lot, and I didn't smoke then, or if I did, it was only when it came around and i bought a dimebag and a half once (some of it was still around left in a drawer when I started smoking a lot)

I always had insomnia problems and then got sleepy and just wanted to go to bed. Also think it has to do with what they said, you sleep, and you just want to sleep more...

have him just wake up, drink some coffee, smoke weed if he wants, and at least do something. Gets boring doing nothing but sleep.

Does "dude" have a job?  Can't sleep all day if you have to go to work.  I say it sounds like a lack of motivation.

Hes just a lazy stoner.

If he stopped smoking weed and had bills to pay he would sleep 7-9 hours like a sane person.

I'm sure dude does but the laziness factor is the catalyst I assume thats causing the doing-nothing-with-lifeness. Create a goal for yourself, get a hobby, go take walks in forests or nature trails. GET OUT OF THE HOUSE. That is the first step.

THink about it, dude only have one life to live, it's senseless to sleep it away. There is so much out there for dude, s much to be discovered, learned, accomplished, hey even fucked :doggystyle:

Life is a gift from the skies, dude, enjoy it while dude has it. Dude don't wake up 20 years from now thinking to yourself that you have done nothing with your life and dwell on that fact your a loser and a failure and all that other negative shit. Think about dudes future and what dude wants for dudes life. Anything is possible if dude can just put dudes mind to it, and this is so true, yet a lost art, rekindle it!

Also, what does dude eat? That could definitely be a factor as well. Eating nutriously can definitely give dude the boost he needs. Open your eyes, dude. There is an extravagant and marvelous world out there, and guess what? It's all yours, if you want it

20 years from now, you will regret the things you didn't do more than the things you did do.

Dude is horrible at getting up for alarms. always has been to the best of my knowledge reminissing back on highschool. He's the type of guy who never gets up for the first alarm.

works at a steak house but never has to work till like 5 in the afternoon, usually gets up roughly around 4 if the phone is off. Around 2 if people start lighting him up.

He has things he wants to do in life, but instead of doing them he hangs around townie scum people till late, doing absolutely nothing, usually just sitting there in akward silence watching movies or talking about townie politics like who stole who's Xbox. So then he doesnt get up till an hour before work and doesnt have time to do ANYTHING he needs to do including laundry FOR work, homework, yard maintnence, jamming.

Its a viscious cycle of stupidity followed by ignorance.

I have no clue what dude eats, I notice alot of empty breakfast cereal bags, and hot pockets and tons of soda pop in regular rotation.

Im thinking from what i've heard from all of you its a combination of Laziness/ depression or possibly depression leading to laziness.

In some way or nother its like a complete lack of will power, guy doesnt take care of himself either, bathes like every other day even though comes home covered in nasty shit from working in the kitchen, super ok with being stinky.

phucker is my best friend, i just feel like he's starting to bring me down. He used to jam everyday with me, him on drums. Can't jam if he aint ever awake.

Its not that the townie scum have good drugs either, He comes here and its like an all you can smoke chronic buffet when its been a good 2 months since he's thrown down on anything. All they do is distract him from his drums and make him give them rides to probation and grocery store or there dude.

Dude and i were building a self sustaining eutopia of really close friends with a broad knowledge base of skills. Im starting to question if i want dude aboard the crew.

Hmm, that's kind of sad.  It seems as if he's lost his drive for whatever reason.  Maybe he'll find it again, maybe he won't.  Its up to you if you want to wait around for it, you know him better than any of us do.
