You tell it brotha.  The simple life is, in practicality, a non-option.

Back to movies, I think you're on to something.  Once you buy some intellectual property once, I think you should get some sort of voucher that allows you to buy any future format at cost.  It makes sense, to the consumer that is.  I don't see anything to motivate the proprietors to do anything of that nature however.

I wonder how quickly a class-action suit that tried to force the issue would die out.

Well, I don't think the studios should be forced to offer us the blu-ray version of a movie for free just because we already own the DVD, or just because we paid for a movie ticket. But I agree with you to some extent, like if you buy a CD or DVD, you should be allowed to download it legally. Or rip it onto your computer (format shifting)

To save time and that $20 a month ($240 a year, shit that's an OZ of mids y0).  I only sneaked into a movie once.  It was the movie Outbreak about the time ebola was all in the news.  Snuck in with my dad and uncle.

The Incredible Hulk. I asked the kid which theater it was in, he asked me if i had my stub, I said no. He then looked it up and pointed me the way. No foul there that i can see.

I have never seen anywhere in the theater that says i can't watch for free. I see the movie listings and times. I think it's just assumed that you need to pay, and if you feel the need to, then by all means, pay.


I aint fer sure yet which movie will be my next victim though...It just happens when it's time, it never sees it coming. It never had a chance....

From what Ive been told most movie theatres make very little income from selling tickets, but make the majority of their income through selling coke and popcorn, candy, etc. Many film editing students and audio for film students have made deals with the local cinemas where they can go to the cinema for free as long as they buy a coke and popcorn for every film they watch.

I've heard the same thing. The amount the cinema makes from each ticket sale increases the longer the movie's been showing - in the first week they get nothing.

The film studios, primarily.

Also AFOAF manages a theater. Apparently it's not that uncommon for studios to send a representative to the theater who'll go into the showing, count heads and then go to the office and demand royalty payment on the spot. So if we're talking about a locally owned theater you thieves could be hurting a local business owner. Not cool dudes.

  they do make a killing on the edibles though. that's why i bring in my own.:eek:

like i said before...i think it's just assumed that you have to pay, there's no where that it states watching for free is prohibited.

However, before every movie you will notice a short very annoying clip conveying downloading and pirating is illegal punishable by fines and imprisonment along with all the disclaimers.

I have yet to see anything about not paying at the ticket booth or just walking in.
