I would need a better pic of the base of the stem to be sure, but I don't think its a muscaria varient.  I don't see any concentric rings around the volva.

It would help to have a better pic of the stem base from the side.

It helps when in the woods too take a few steps back when taking pictures, just zoom in for good macro shots otherwise the flash will make the picture harder too make out. You can miss little details that are important by using a flash too close, when im hunting i try and use the macro mode on my camera but sometimes i cant do too the fact of extremely low lighting so i have too step back and use the regular mode with flash. Sometimes i have too be very far away from the shrooms for a quality picture with flash, 5 feet sometimes more.

They all looked good on the screen.
I will try that out next hunt.
I actually didnt use the flash at all today. It could be that I was in a sunny spot maybe.

On my canon a640 the macro mode never focuses very close unless it is zoomed all the way out.

On the manual mode I can put the flash on low, medium or high which can really help with that.

But on any camera it is better to cover the flash with tissue paper or masking tape, that helps diffuse it and remove glare and reduce the brightness.

The problem is that the mushroom is relatively small and light colored compared to the darker, larger background so the auto light level adjustment makes most of the shot look good, but that causes the mushroom to be all washed out.

One thing that can work is to turn on the flash.  It seems like it would do the opposite, but it can take a washed out mushroom and make it look perfect.

Some people say the flash is evil when photographing mushrooms, but it really helps bring out the yellows and reds and makes those colors much more like real life.

You could also turn the exposure time way down, that way the background is pretty dark and the bright mushroom is exposed perfectly.  Makes it stand out really well.

Your mushroom has a sac like volva with a collar on the top.  Combined with the way the cap looks, that means you have Amanita frostiana.

Not edible or deadly.

When i use my flash and am doing so close it fucks the whole pic up but if i just take a step or two back it cumz out perfect. My cam has no flash in macro mode but most times i never use flash, only rarely there usually is good light so its not needed and the colors cum out wonderful.

Every cam is different.  Mine turns down the exposure a LOT when you have flash on and turn on macro mode, usually it looks great.

Try covering the flash with something translucent, that really cuts down on the glare and overexposure.  Its best if its not right up against the flash, maybe make a couple rolls of masking tape and then put the tissue paper on that so the light can diffuse more when its at least a cm in front of the flash, farther is better.  When using flash it really helps to have it come from different angles, all professional photographers use a remote flash unit.  You can also use a white umbrella to diffuse the light and make it come from all directions, that makes mushrooms look really awesome.

Someone told me that Tyler Lockwood uses a lot of tinfoil when he is photographing mushrooms, to hear it told he practically surrounds the mushroom with tinfoil so all the light bounces off it from all directions but its barely out of the shot.  But he denied it when I asked him in person.
