Seven years on from 911, what have I learned?
    #8605549 -

That some people, just like those that believe the reichstag fire was caused by communists, no matter what, will go to great lenghs to deny or distort.

I'm not making this to argue. I wasn't convinced two planes can bring down three skyscrapers seven years ago, and I won't be convinced now. This is beside the point.

There's some points we can agree on:

*19 of the hijackers were Saudi. Osama bin Laden is Saudi. We warred with Afghanistan and Iraq.
*The Afghanistan war has gone on far too long. Heroin production is at record levels. No sign of Osama Bin Laden (nevermind that the FBI doesn't want him for 911)
*What was that war in Iraq all about? No weapons besides small arms, no tanks, no planes, no bombs, no links to 911. A tarnishng of the UK and US name for getting stuck in a bloody and fruitless war.
*Oil prices went up, not down. Washington baying for Iran's blood and parking fleets in the Persian gulf has brought it over $145 a barrell.
*Protesting is illegal in the UK. I'm aware that technically that's not true, and you have to apply for a protesting permit. Just like the marihuana tax stamp act of 1937.
*Democracy in the EU is a show, just like in the US. If it's not vote rigging, it's oligarchy's placing their puppet into power (George Bush, Gordon Brown).

Seriously, what does it matter about the technicalities of 911? Terrorism happened, people were terrorised and the majority submitted, causing the death of millions of afghani's and iraqi's and soon to be iranians. Not to mention all the thousands of Europeans and Americans who have died, and for what? No WMD's, No OBL, and oil is not cheaper.

You're pretty smart for not posting this in the Politics forum.

Our overlords are obviously doing well at leading the sheeple into destruction

--------------------
"A human being is part of the whole, called by us 'Universe'; a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.

This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest us.

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty.

Nobody is able to achieve this completely but striving for such achievement is, in itself, a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security."

the majority of the population are just too ignorant to realize this. they think were going after the bad guys who attacked us and this is justifiable by god, george bush, and the united states of america.
i hate the government and all but its mostly the peoples fault, they need to wake the fuck up and stop being held under oppression of our gov't. if people could think we all could do something about this.

i think apathetic is more appropriate, not ignorant.

If the government had any part in doing 9/11, we need to do a big audit and put procedures in place to make sure nothing like that can happen again.

If a bunch of random terrorists did it without help from the government, then the audit / cleaning house is not necessary.

That is the main reason that I want to know who did it.

your screen name has rockefeller in it, and you want to regulate govt. power more, how awesome is that.

Anyways, we don't want osama bin laden and never did.  One of the guys I work with, was in the marines and they had him in the scope of a sniper 3 different times in his two 9-month tours.  They were never able to fire, because the word never came down from whoever that shit flows through.  He is still in the military and loves serving his country, but still admits there is some bullshit to it all.  Iraq was daddy's war, and he wanted to finish it.  Fighting terrorism is fighting an idea, not an enemy, the war against it will NEVER end.

I wanted to skirt around an arguement of the technicalities of why the building came down. Theroies (planes or controlled demolition) are polarised and either camp will not see the other's side. If it was a bunch of random terrorists, then I agree. That means the american citizen is paying tax money for NORAD and an air force that doesn't do it's job.
