I had to call 911

My apartment complex is so scary lately.  :frown:

I was sleeping in bed because I am nocturnal, with my kitty on my chest, when I heard this blood curdling scream from outside. 

I get up. 

I hear it again, this time with the sound of breaking glass, and the words, "Someone please, call the police!"  followed by more intense screaming. 

It sounded like someone was being killed out there.  So I go out to my porch to look, and I see this woman hanging out in her doorway, along with all these big guys.  Then I see something that disturbs me...all my neighbors are rapidly LEAVING their apartments at the same time.  I'm like WFT then I'm like, Ohhh, shit...

I have no idea what is happening, but it can't be good.  So I go into my apartment, pull the blinds and hear the woman scream some more. 

So I call 911. 

It's the first time I've ever had to call 911 before. 

The operator was chill.  I gave him the address.  He asked me if he could give my name to the police and I said no, I'm not comfortable with that. 

This apartment complex has gotten so scary.  When we first moved in, only old people lived here, or young families just starting out.  It was really a quaint place and I liked it hear.  But then slowly, over the course of three years, things started to change.  Crime skyrocketed.  My friend who came to visit me got his car stolen from, and many people have been robbed.  I can't even go out walking alone because I get so freaked out that I'm gonna get raped.  The guys around here aren't shy about harassing people.  It sucks what this place has become.

Apparently it was a domestic dispute.

And yeah...we'll be moving soon. To where, I don't know, but by next month we'll be gone from this place. I mean, this little apartment has been good to us, but now it's time to move on.

I once moved into an apartment in a bad part of town. The first day I was sitting there after moving a bunch of shit inside and I heard...POP! POP! POP! I went to the balcony and looked down to see a guy running through the apartments with a gun. I knew right then I had made a mistake, but I stuck it out for 6 months anyway. Never had too many problems personally but the cops were always showing up for something around that complex. And it made for some paranoid times since I was doing/selling a lot of drugs in those days.

Depends on the gun I guess.  But outside gunshots usually sound like a popping sound to me if I hear them from inside. :shrug:

when my hood went to shit, I bought a little bersa lama .380

I got hollow points in that bitch, even bought a couple extra clips.
