Definitely not unless you have a top-of-the-line computer. I bought that game and can hardly run it on my own decent rig.

If you do have a very good computer, it's a decent game... the first 40 levels are very good, and definitely give WoW a run for its money. After that, though, there are nowhere near enough quests, to the extent that from 50-60, you'll only get about 2 levels worth of XP from questing... after that, you have to kills mobs for XP. It has some other problems too (bad UI, class imbalances, missing features), but in a few months I think it'll be a very decent MMO.

Honestly, though, if you haven't played WoW before, I can almost guarantee you'd prefer it. That game is fucking incredible.

Here yah go:

Wiki: Free MMORPG's

I've tried "Martial Heros" if that is still around.

I have WoW, but rarely ever play. The problem with offering a pay username and password, someone could jack your account, or steal stuff from your current characters. I would like to think that people are more honest, but I'm quite jaded.

I hope the wiki page helps

I tried Conan and I wasn't big on it; quit after a few days. You need mad computer specs to run it properly anyways. Mine were barely up to par when it came to areas with more than two people. I used to play an MMORPG called Tibia (www.tibia.com), which was fun to dick around on, but it got old and the game deteriorated as time passed (this is an old game, it's been around since 1997). I think you would still have fun playing.

It's a community oriented game with a lot of freedom and potential for player-run events and activities. Basically there are 74 servers, each server capable of hosting up to about 1000 players at any given time. The older servers max out around mid-day, and taper off to a few hundred players by late-night. The most interesting thing about this game is the 'culture' behind each server, because they're all drastically different.

This game allows open PVP in most areas (except on non-PVP servers), so the higher levels, who are often in only a few powerful guilds, sort of run the server as they see fit. Wars are common place in most servers, as the higher levels battle it out for control over hunting grounds and whatever else they want. Some servers are run by brutal dictators who charge newbies money to hunt in certain areas, or routinely engage in killing sprees just for the hell of it and then kill off anyone who challenges them.

This was my favorite part of the game: leveling a character and joining the losing side, then building an army (through any means imaginable: propaganda, coercion, bribes, etc) and battling for your server's 'freedom' against the tyrants. The game has an active forum which serves as a diplomatic ground for guild to guild discussion, general chit-chat, games, organizing player-run events, or just making friends. People from dozens of countries play regularly, with a community of well over 100,000 active players and several million active accounts.

A few warnings: this game has 2d graphics, which turns a lot of people off from the get-go, but after awhile you won't even notice or care, you may even end up liking it; there is no sound, but most people use this fact to listen to all of their favorite albums while they play; the death penalty is harsh, up to 10% of your total experience and equipped items, plus everything in your backpack (these go down as you gain new abilities) - this means that a very high leveled character may lose weeks worth of hunting in one death. It's a real piss-off when the death is from a server malfunction. Lastly, this game is highly addictive when you get into it. No joke. A lot of the worst gaming related stories (kids beating and killing each other or family members) were related to Tibia. Other than those little misgivings, it's a great game for what it's worth (it's completely free) and it has a lot to offer.

I think that's it.

Oh and if you want a 3d "theme-park" type MMO, I'd also recommend WoW if you haven't played it. It's a lot of fun for a few months.
