Conan The Barbarian
    #14946657 -

Anyone going go see the new Conan movie? I know I will! Always been a fan of the original books by Robert E. Howard and this one seems closer to the core than the shit they did with Shwarzz back in the 80's.

Haha, the only thing I know about Conan is that I had this Conan comic back in the 1980s. It was kinky as hell

 Yeah, Conan stories ( the original ones ) have always been full of naked damsels and slashing gore. But there's more to it than that! It was pretty well written and action-packed!

Anyway, here are some trailers:

movie looks like its gonna suck.

the ancient warrior theme has been beaten to death, then reanimated with a futuristic sci-fi theme, then beat to death all over again.

Indeed. The only way to save a movie like this is to make the production artistically unique somehow  and to not take itself too seriously but it doesn't seem like they went for that soft of thing.

Fuck yeah, I need to dig up that comic. Btw, it was given to my sister when she turned 15 or so by what could be considered our family's equivalent of wicked uncle Ernie

At this point, I think I'd rather eat my own shit than see another superior in every way, classic, ruined by hollywood fags, hungry for some easy cash.

Why is this generation without a single original thought? Why do you have to steal from generations before you? Are you little dub steppers admitting that your generation pales in comparison? Because thats how just about everyone older than 27 sees it.

In the 70's gay ass disco was on every station, In the end the people collectively rose up in anger and fought back with a nation wide "Disco sucks" campaign.
I think it's time to launch a "Remakes suck" offensive.

Who's with me?

The whole remake shit is getting old.

If its not a rehashed typical love/cop/horror story, Hollywood just straight up steals a movie from the past that was popular, adds some CGI and a few more tits and explosions, and voila: a movie.

shit's weak, yo.

shit is weak. :ifyoucanawe:

I've heard that the problem is profit margins have gotten so low due to torrenting that no one is willing to take a chance on original material.

I'm with you 100% about not seeing this latest abortion.

The answer to the question above is nepotism and marketing. Look at Hollywood today: it's entirely comprised of the children of the last generation of actors/directors. They don't have any artistic talent of their own, so they just remake everything their parents did. At the same time, marketing has taught hollywood producers how to be ultra effective at appealing to the broadest base of viewers, the lowest common denominator. It makes the most money.

Fucking weaksauce.
