Someone else said that.  My username is not in that quote.  I was speaking in regard to puppets.  The whole reason we give aid places is to stabilize the institutions so investors will have more confidence it's viable to make money and allow military access.  Raping their economy would be the opposite of what the US would want.

Leaving aside the massive profits from the rebuilding that Libya is now going to need, there are vast oil spoils to distribute. The Libyan oil industry produced 1.6 million barrels a day prior to the war. The country is thought to have 46 billion barrels of reserves - the largest in Africa. 



Preventing the Libyan dinar from going back to the gold standard and competing with the US Dollar was also a big plus.

We don't fucking care and anybody who thinks we are worried about this is a conspiracist idiot.  Are you really trying to argue that some Islamic monkey currency is going to supplant the Dollar, the Euro and the Renmibi for supremacy? 

Once again, Libya was a FRENCH production.  Not our idea.  NATO alliance obligated us to help which we did in a very limited manner.
