Todays Reishi Harvest.

went to one of my spots that Reishi grows to see if it was ready (before the huge rains come and rot everything) and many were ok.....lots more were not though!  These are all harvested from dead coconut trees and seem to grow well and of some of the best quality i have seen.

here they are in their assisted habitat.  the top part is dead and there is another large one growing under it.  top is compost bottom is tea!

look how bit the pores are on these suckers!  these guys sell for a lot!



Old and the new.  the big black dead thing is obviously not used but they do tend to grow more from the areas were others died.


some of the picked ones befor ei cut them up and cleaned them.


here we go all cut up and about to spread them out to dry.  i always cut them first before drying cause cutting dried reishi is like cutting wood....really.  the red bucket is a 5 gallon bucket filled.

Beautiful finds there. Thank you for sharing them. I'm about to start cultivating Reishi as they don't grow naturally in my climate. I wish you continuing good luck on your future hunts. Please post any more pictures that you might take.

I hunt tsugae in the summer and fall and they grow all my neck of the woods and the woodstock area.

thanks guys :smile:  they are pretty widespread in warm cliamtes.  these are lucidum but other species, like above, grow in cooler regions like the PNW.

glad to hear it! it is pretty bitter. adding 2 or 3 dried Jujube to the pot helps that as does licorice root!

it is for sure bitter haha, but i drink it just plain it get a few time to get used to it but iam used to try bitter medicine .for the rest of the family i made a very diluted tea when you can`t almost fell it and add sugar and ice and i make then drink it haha .

Yeah man lately, I'll get a pot full of boiling water, and fill up a huge pitcher with it, and about a table spoon of dried thinly sliced reishi chunks, then put it in the fridge and drink that instead of water. About 3-4 cups a day. It detox's you so well, itll clean you out so fast.

It's great with honey instead of sugar.

for sure. 

i make a brew with ginger, ginseng and licorice root.  pretty tasty and only a mild bitter aftertaste.  biol this for abotu 30 mins and let sit for another and its good to go :smile:

I just take hot water and dried shrooms, fill up a pitcher with piping hot water, and some sliced fungus. then chill it and drink that instead of normal water.

After knowing what ganoderma is, check out the main species of the polypore:

* Ganoderma applanatum (Known as Artist's conch)
* Ganoderma lucidum (Known as Reishi, Lingzhi or Red Mushroom)

yeah you need to start real small, especially when making tea., Maybe my reishi is just super potent, but when I first started I got very sick from it, then I started again a few months later but very small and had no troubles. Its an excellent fungus. You can feel it flushing you out.
