emotional body heat
    #8454842 - 05/28/08 10:36 AM (15 years, 10 months ago)

Do any of y'alls emotional responses produce intense body heat??
Like anger, frustration, shame, anticipation, etc...??

I was wondering if any of you know how this works and why.

Thanks.

The fight-or-flight response to intense emotions results in increased blood circulation to your muscles. Basically, your body is priming itself to take action, whether it is defense or a quick exit. Since you probably do not respond to these emotions by engaging in a fist-fight or going for a run, the extra circulation is not utilized, and you feel it as an increase in body heat.

I swear the littlest things can cause me to me rain sweat.
Like soak my shirt in a matter of minutes.
Its crazy.

I feel I can recall memories from my past that cause this reaction and focus on them until I am radiating heat and flushed.
I just want to be able to control this more. I've had some disastrous job interviews.

I've had anxiety issues since I was in high school but its now a bodily response and not just an emotion. Makes it HOT for me, ya know.

Breathing techniques?? Diet?? More exercise?? How do I better chill myself out?? Literally.
