Understanding our Emotions: A perspective
    #1768534 - 08/01/03 08:45 AM (13 years, 5 months ago)

Here is Plutchik's emotion wheel. It's still controversial and as shown below, a somewhat basic version of it, but it's an insight on how to decipher our emotions.

http://library.thinkquestafrica.org/TQA00098/overv02.shtml

Edit:
Using the emotion wheel
Opposite feelings are directly across from each other on the wheel, such as Surprise and Anticipation.

Combining the adjacent ones will result in the secondary emotion, such as Joy and Acceptance = Love :heartpump:.

That's about it all there is to it. There exists a more complex wheel with more secondary/primary emotions, feel free to post it here if you find it.

Are you taking a psychology course Daba?

Computer games don't affect kids. I mean if Pacman affected our generation as kids, we'd all be running around in a darkened room, munching pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

"My motto from here on out is: If someone or something (including me) in my life is conducting themselves in such a way that they can be seen on Jerry Springer, it's time to take out the garbage!!! When you stop taking their behaviour personally and see their antics as a true reflection on their character, it becomes absolutely nauseating." Anon. on abusive relationships.

Not at the moment. I took a psychology class a few months ago; a recent conversation jogged my memory and I figured that some links would be beneficial to Support Group Central Forum.
