Another quiting smoking thread, badass cravings.

Quiting smoking.
I didn't even realise how addicted i was. Its been a few days and the head pressure is still there, this is usually what has stopped me from quiting - smoking makes the head feel normal again. I'm now determined, or at least thats what i think now. I think i need to keep finding shit to do to keep me busy, its only when i'm really bored that i get full on cravings. wish me luck! But shit i could go for one.... this damn rum and ginger ale is not helping...

Stop thinking and know that this is what you need to do, thinking leads to more thinking and thats where you are bound to give in and smoke again.
This is the way that I finally quit and it has been just about 1 1/2 years.
Just dont give in to the tempataion and you can do it.
dont even have that one drag either cuz that will lead to two and you know where that go's from there.
Think positive all the time and it will be over before you know it.

the patch actually works really good if you can find the right strength for yourself.

good luck man, i've quit for a month 3 times now... i'm getting there.

each time i quit i gain more ability to quit.

I think that is a big part of quitting, the more you do it the more you know whats coming and are more able to deal with the withdrawls.
I quit about 5 times before I was able to do it for good.
The last time was definately the easiest.
I said ater New Years Eve, I wasnt going to smoke any more, so that night I finished all my cigs and bummed a couple more to last till I went to bed, then just before I went to bed, I emptied all the ashtrays and in the morning I just didnt smoke and still havent had a drag in almost 1 1/2 years.
If I can do it so can anyone else.

Keep up the good work man, you should be out of the worst of the cravings and every day should get easier now.
Beware of those damn mental cravings, they can stick around for quite some time. I still get urges to smoke and I have not had a drag in almost 1 1/2 years.

Not goin greatly, i've had the odd one here and there. Like maybe 4 or 5 cigarettes this past week. though its an improvement on 30g a week. I'm getting used to less and less i guess. Cold turkey just wasn't working out- the craving last more than just a couple of days (about a week) was getting very cranky, but from what i gather gradual weening is also a hard road to go down. My lungs already feel better mind you, and i don't think i could ever smoke 30g a week again, fuck that musta been doing some damage.
