Help quiting 3 year pian killer addiction

Hi everyone. I used to be a cusual drug user, but this shit has gotten way out of control. I have spent a mountain of cash trying to support this growing addiction of mine. I have been taking pain killers, vicoden, percocet, and oxi's for about 3 years. Vicoden i usually take about 14 to 15 a DAY of the 500mg. Oxi I have taken up to 250mg in one day, when I am supplied. Also, I get smash drunk about once or twice a week. My body is getting weak, and my eyes are BLACK. MY HANDS SHAKE. I am fucking dieing and i know it. However, believe it or not I am still actively going to work, and not too many people even know I am junky, including my family. I am going on 3 days without anything and i feel like my face is going to explode, i have pain everywhere and i am in a depression that is unimaginable. There is another problem, I work in a hospital and cannot seek treatment, or my bosses will know. It is home host insurance so i cant go to another hospital. I feel so fucking helpless. Can anyone give me some tips on how I can beat this shit and get healthy again? Any supplemenst i can take to ease all these symptoms? thanks for the help.

Rehab could be an idea. You need to go somewhere where you can't get your hands on them. It sounds like its life and death now, youve got to do what youve got to do to survive. Ring up some rehab centers, try and find a cheap one, and they may have some payment plans you can handle. Youve got to put your life above your job.

If you have gone three days without anything, keep fighting hard, the most physical withdrawal symptoms will have faded in less than a week. It is possible to get off of this shit without rehab, but it will take strong will of course.

The cravings seem to overcome willpower sometimes, it is as if the drug is trying block out the voice of reason inside. It may be telling you that you won't succeed at quitting because this means that you will have to deal with everyday life the normal way. You can't rely on these thoughts, engage them as you were fighting for your life on a battlefield, destroy them, your mind is stronger than a single chemical.
Overcoming the general depression will take a bit of work, this means finding sources of joy and motivation in other places. But how can this be hard to find ? Managing to quit is a source of joy in itself, so each day should be encouragement. Exercise, healthy food and meditation will help restore balance much faster, turn these 3 years of downward spiral into the cause for your rebirth. Then even all of this can be accepted eventually and seen as a necessary phase that brought you into a more positive state.
I could never do this cold turkey, weening off slowly will be much easier on your system I think. Order some Kratom, I'm sure you will find the feeling to be very similar.

14 or 15??? thats gonna be hell on ur liver man with the tylenol... be strong and like mentioned try kratom it will help

Thanks alot to everyone. It's really encouraging to know that people actually do give a shit. I cracked and did one 30mg oxi today. I dont want to have this on my back anymore, so I took your advice and ordered some kratom, can anybody tell me how take take it properly to help me get off of this shit?

The number one thing to remember is that patience and time will heal you... no matter how horrible you feel, you will get better. By giving in and doing more opiates you just prolong the inevetible withdrawl sickness... and that's what it is, a sickness. You just need faith that things will get better... Hopefully you have people around you who care about you and can look out for you when you're in this state. Trust me, I know it's hard, but you'll feel much better after being sober for just a couple of months. :smile:

Oh, and to ease withdrawl symptoms (especially to get some sleep) I'd recommend benzo's like Xanax or Valium... unless you are prone to addiction to those as well. I'm not, so they worked fine for me... Also, try going on a hike or something, get some exercise and sweat out all toxins you've accumulated.

im getting over a 2 year pk and H addiction, i started a suboxone maintence program it worked fucking wonders. NO withdrawals or cravings. You kinda get high the first 2 times you take, but after you just feel completely normal like youve done opiates. Its great, but some people cant pee or poop on it, worse than regular opiates.

only other downside is it can be expensive, if u dont have insurance. but my suboxone doctor has givin me lots of scripts to try lyrica(recreational),nuerontin(not recreational but great for anxiety), and he gave me focalin(good for studying all night).

So i really reccomend SUBOXONE dude. www.suboxone.com

KRATOM is ok but, in my opinion its not gunna help your addiction, just your withdrawals, and its not that strong, you will fiend for a better high.

DONT GET ON METHADONE - that is prolly one of the worst addictions you can get, much worse than H and PK's, its just a legal replacement for heroin.

BENZO'S- they help but very easy to get addicted to.

If you were maxed out on Opiate consumption for three years you would not be able to sit in a chair after three days of going cold turkey let alone use a computer my friend.

It is difficult to see through the fog of what you might be experiencing, but almost like Adam was grabbing at, being sick and helpless/hopeless is actually the most helpful concept of Opiate addiction. When a hardcore junky is on the bathroom or jail house floor shaking and hallucinating, puking and shitting blood for a week on end not even really even capable of crawling, that is the healing process in disguise. The pain and undescribable discomfort is the process of your brain healing. It does heal from Opiate addiction, but it does leave a scar. If a hard junky is completely clean for 2 weeks their brains will once again begin releasing Endorphins naturally again without dope, very similar to how it was working before they got junked up and strung out. If you are four days into it and slam one of your pills again, you just wasted all of the sick effort that you put into getting healthy again, and your brain has to start over with the healing process from the begining again. Understand. It is a healing process, which becomes easier in a way each and every day of being clean. Oh and it helps to hit rock bottom a few times first and it does not sound like that has happened for you yet. See the word I put in bold and italics, because it is not pills you are hung up on it is that which I highlighted for you. All my best. Neil.

if you are able to take time off from daily life. I would suggest quiting cold turkey. Will be a lovely memory next time you come in contact with opiates.

I wouldn't recommend a cold turkey stop. Thats really hard and not good for your body at all.

I recommend you try to cut your doses in half to begin with. Stopping cold turkey you have to deal with intense withdraw symptoms. Lowering your dose will let you have your high but after about a week you notice that lowering your dose even more will cause even easier/less withdraw symptoms.

If hes not addicted to benzos...I don't see the problem with it. Opiate withdrawal is not usually deadly, its just hell.
