Peroxide aided oxygen boost

Can adding peroxide create extra oxygen in a terrarium or greenhouse. For humidity I use perlite and I was thinking of adding peroxide to it to boost oxygen levels for when I'm gone on the weekends What do you all think. Worth it or not?

Not. Peroxide looses its fizz pretty quickly and wouldn't create much oxygen anyway.

specificaly, that's about 1 cubic inch of 3% peroxide aqueous solution to produce 10 cubic inches of 02.

I dont care if this is an old post, people will still read it. 

It's great to learn that H2o2 actually creates  air and that it only creates a very small temporary amount, but I thought h2o was "water" Are you saying the oxygen excapes from the compound and rises into the air?????  sooo what makes the h2o (w a t e r) decide to sepperate? is this happening in all water?....  Its ok, I know Im not "smart"

to answer your question - The one extra molecule is extra "reactive" or "unstable" as I guess you could say, and that while exposed, it will evaporate. Leaving you with a bottle full of simple h20. Water.

Technically the extra oxygen molecule would rather form ionic bonds with the oxygen/hydrogen in the air.

This thread was off topic and irrelevant 4 years ago.  What makes people think mushrooms want an elevated level of oxygen?  There's been numerous attempts to supply extra oxygen through bottles, concentrators, or even liquid O2 with zero benefit.
