Music suggestions
    #8247391 -

Alright, so I cleared all my music from my computer to my external hard drive. Now I can afford to download whatever the fuck I want instead of thinking "I only have 750 MBs of space left, I can't download that." I would like you guys to suggest me on, ONLY ONE, album to download. If you upped it to Divshare or Megaupload that would be even better.

I'm not posting this in the Music forum because it doesn't get much traffic and the people that frequent it, well, I probably have what they'll suggest since I hang out in there a lot. And don't tell me to go to the Indie Album Thread, I already have :crankey:

streetlight manifesto- probably best current going band in my opinion. it's ska (in a traditional term), but they aren't "ska" by any means, (think reel big fish, etc). they have this weird cultural twist into their sound, and amazing lyrics... and everythign about it relaly tingles my senses.

reverend horton heat- amazing guitarist, take roots genres (bluegrass, blues, gospel) and puts a psychobilly twist to them. if you played guitar hero you've probably hear "psychobilly freakout"

andrew bird's bowl of fire- nothing like andrew bird's solo stuff like he's doing now. this was his first band. it's a weird jazzy, pop, gypsy, just amazing stuff.

anyway, got lots more if you're into any of that shiettt

Simple Kid - SK2

Sort of Radiohead-esque, but very unique at the same time.

DevotchKa - How it Ends

its like a blend of Eastern European indie-alt rock that has a dark color to their music, good stuff

yea i know, i like streetlight's keasbey nights more than catch-22's, although catch 22 was first.

the streetlight version is much more fine tuned in my opinion.

Why?- Elephant Eyelash...one of my favorite albums. period. He defies genre

indie rock experimental hiphop(alittle?) fun weirdness. Really interesting lyrics imo

listen to Rubber Traits (if youre not already familiar with why)

and since i recently saw them, i'll have to sugguest one of their openers Cryptacize..its like Deerhoof, only much more chill, and the female vocalist dosn't sound like a chinese cartoon
