printing albinos ?

Can anyone tell me how to tell wich albnio is the best to print ? am i just lookinf for the most white one?i would like to share these with the comunity any tips ?

i would suggest cloning via biopsy, seems unlikely that the albino will pass along in the MS

so there is nbo way to trade ? i thought the prints were just clear/white. i didnt know they didnt produce spores.:confused:

I think what anarchOi meant was that if you make a MS print the albino strain might not be dominant, resulting in a non-albino print.

just like bubba said, it's unlikely that your print will result in guranteed albinos

but there are methods to attempt to create an albino strain

agar cloning will get you on the right path

once you've made a clone, you should start another grow with the culture, then take prints from the albinos and split them into multiple grows, then whichever one gives the most albinos, clone and start again

atleast that's how i imagine you'd do it
unfortunately i've never had the fortune of having an albino mutation

that’s what i thought but how does sporeworks have Pf albino syringes with every mushroom coming out albino. i was expecting it to be mixed up because the albino gene is not dominate but everyone is albino, and looking at pics on the shroomery other people have all albino shrooms from a MS inoculation as well.

to answer my own question.

There are partial PF albino prints that are normally colored but they produce a mix of albino and pigmented mushrooms. You are unlikely to get either as they are hard to print and jealously guarded. You might be able to get ahold of a Falbino (PF Albino crossed with F+ strain) print as they are more available and more productive.

Well, you can take a clone on agar or directly to LC by removing a small piece of the mushroom under sterile conditions (Inside a glove box/flowhood) remove a piece of the mushroom tissue near the base of the stem (inner tissue from within the stem) dunk it in h2o2 solution and either toss it into a LC or place on agar.

But simply taking spores will not replicate that mushroom since spores provide a totally different set of genetics.

In my experience, white spores result 100% in pure albino mushrooms. Purely albino mushrooms are double recessive for albinism and are incapable of producing spores with functioning genes for pigment.

sorry if my input confused you, really i was just talking about the process of selecting traits for isolation

i really have no experience with albinos

if anyone has a print or syringe they'd be willing to send if i paid shipping.. pm me! ( :rolleyes: )

lol. just let those caps open up real far and wavy. like workman said the deposits are quite light and will only drop from a few gills. you will have to hold the print at various angles in the light in order to see it :wink:
