Damn you Verizon

Tubes are clogged for the west LA area, apparently.

I don't think I'd call my town "west LA" by quite a stretch, but apparently it affects me, too.

Luckily, the neighbor has unsecured wireless and doesn't seem to be using Verizon, but I still can't play games or download anything, because I can't bring myself to be a douche-bag and leech a bigger chunk of their bandwidth.

I'd ask if anyone else is having this problem, but I guess if they are they can't be here to bitch about it. Luckily I'm so good at bitching that I can do it anyway. :naughty:

I use someone else's wireless and feel proud of myself for downloading as much shit as i want without paying a cent.

My friends old apartment complex was notorious for having like 5 unsecured connections to steal off of.

Ya man, for real. If you have an unprotected wireless network, you're free game. It's SO EASY to put a password on a wireless connection. Shit, you could put in the number "1" as your password and keep most people out.

I feel no guilt whatsoever jacking a wifi connection that unsecured wherever I am. Nobody close enough to my house has one, or else I'd be jacking wifi all the time at home, too. If it weren't such an easy fix, I wouldn't do it. But, if you're too lazy to put a password on your wifi, then obviously your signal is being broadcast for all people who aren't idiots to enjoy. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

I'm glad I'm not at work tonight.

I hate outages. Probably not as bad as the residential folks who have to listen to every customer whine.

BTW, you might not live in west LA, but chances are you're riding a T3 or OC that's out. Normally if the "tubes are clogged" then there's a physical cut somewhere and we've rerouted the path logically until the physical path can be restored.

and get prepared to wait a while. all the techs that work in the field are union and it's a pain in the fucking ass to get them to do anything.
