A little peak into Stranded's Family (Humorous)

Okay so I swear to god or any deity or belief you want me to swear to that this just happened literally ten minutes ago...

So as many of you know I'm kind of interested in film making. Went to school for film making, been making films since I was sixteen, been working on a television show a couple of friends and I created for about the last eight months. So after filming for about six hours today I decided to go to my parents casa to snag some free food and see what's going on with the folks. I walk in and I'm all excited talking about my show and my work and our plans and my parents are happy listening as they warm up some food for me. All of a sudden my dad gets all serious as my mom sits down next me, so they're flanking me on either side. My dad asks me what I think the biggest return for investment dollar is in film. I told him I wasn't sure, I would guess commercials but I didn't know. He then mentioned pornography which I agreed was probably the biggest bang for the buck (no pun intended) all of sudden my parents get all serious as my father tells me he's considering investing his money into pornography. I'm kind of stunned but my parents have always been open ridiculously liberal people and I'm thinking about it and thinking that porn is a huge money maker. So I ask them how they're going to do that... feeling a little sick in my stomach because I feel I know the answer. That's when my mom jumps in and says they've been researching porn for the last few weeks and they see two unfilled arenas in the market. Granny porn and baby boomer porn. I just kind of say "uh-huh?" and then they say... "Well we'd want you to direct and edit it"

...

So in case you didn't just get that my parents just asked me to make pornography for them.

The next couple of minutes were just of a blur as I was in shock as my father laid our a business plan for me explaining how this would be a easy and guaranteed money maker and that if I make porn for them it'd be a easy jump to legitimate film... because we've all seen that hardcore gang bang tape Robert De Niro did. It's funny because my whole life I've joked about how I was probably going to wind up in porn doing blow and hookers... but apparently my parents want to make that a reality.

I guess it's nice to know I have a future in case this whole following your dreams thing falls apart.

I am not sure I quite understand this whole thing....Does your parents want you to film THEM or others?
Its pretty fucked up if they want you to film them.

Others... I don't think I'd be laughing about this if they wanted me to film them... I'd be looking for a 24 hour therapists office. They essentially want me to set up an entire porn production company with their money and split the profits with me...

oh god... upon my first read through i was under the assumption that they wanted to personally star in the film. i was like "holy. fuck.... i'm glad that's not my family."

to be honest though, i'm not sure if porn really is all that much of a surefire money maker. i mean, granny porn is a niche that's been filled for at least a decade, probably more like 3 or 4.

what exactly is your marketing plan? internet? because that avenue has already been beaten to death. plus.. who really pays for porn? i never have. ever. and i've been a user for about 8 years.

You know I was having the same thoughts as you but I didn't really want to go into my knowledge or habits/preferences of pornography with my parents. I'm sure they're thinking that people over a certain age of let's say thirty-five aren't sure of where to go to get porn on the internet for free. Also we have a family friend who owns a huge porn company and I guess pulls down over six million a year who's been helping them figure out their business plan.

I honestly am completely not comfortable with sex but if I'm to be honest if the money is decent enough I could see myself getting involved with this project as long as I could keep my real name out of it and have enough time to work on my legit projects.

ohhh.. you guys have an in with the industry.  that'll definitely help out a lot.  afterall, it's not what you know, it's who you know.  well, regardless of my skepticism at the profitability of amateur middle-aged porn, i wish you the best of luck!
