I don't own a copywrite for it dude. Go for it. Mp3 of the month is definitely something that I'd take on a desert island.

unless you find some way to start a fire, you're gonna die from dehydration long before anything else. Can't drink sea water, so you'd have to boil it and collect the steam on a fern leaf... or the bag to condense it. You might be able to start a fire with two sticks and shoelace.. or some rope you made. You'd have to get that figured out within the first day or so, or you wont have the energy to collect things together. The number one rule for wilderness survival is make a shelter... in this case from the sun. Second is to find water.

Exposure would probably kill someone first. With a bag (assuming it is some kind of plastic bag, and not an abosrbant material) you could very easily set up a drip tent to desalinate water. You'd be set for that. If you could figure out a way to consistantly "farm" or catch fish or crabs, extreme changes in temperature, rainstorms, and direct sunlight would kill you first. A relatively determined person could avoid death by dehydration for a pretty long time.

uh, a bag isn't going to drip enough water to drink man. plus you'd have to wait overnight for condensaiton to take place. We're talking about a desert island. Rainstorms wouldn't be an issue, sunlight would... becasue you'd get dehydrated and get heat stroke... it all comes back to water. And no, a determined person, no matter how determined can only last a few days without any water. I mean, i'm not trying to be an uptight ass, but.. you WILL die of dehydration before anything else that isn't a freak accident.

I guess you aren't familiar with common survival techniques. Here's a simple lesson, just in case you ever find yourself in a similar situation.
Find a stick. Prop the bag so it forms a triangle or tent shape. Dig into the sand until you reach the layer where the sand is more moist than dry. Place the bag over this spot. As the water evaporates, which it will do rapidly on a DESERT ISLAND, it will rise and hit the bag, eventually condensing enough to drip down the sides of the bag. You'll have to get creative here, because the water will need something to drip into that will be able to contain it. A few deep shells, for example, might work well.
Will it be enough water to survive on without shelter? No, but exposure to direct sunlight and heat without shelter will kill you first, especially if you CAN find or catch some food. And for the record, most desert islands DO get severe storms, they just don't have any nutrients in the sand/soil or enough to support life.

Ide be eating the leaves off the few tree's there:) Also eating my own fingers or my toe's maybe just the skin might bleed to death or maybe I could draw some seagulls with my blood or some kinda sea creature.
I'd probably drink my own piss and eat my own shit.
Id probably try filtering the water with the bag and drink the sea water and go nutty.
Who knows if the sea creatures in that water have red tide or not. I would probably take the chance also its very hard to catch them Lil buggers with out a pole.
Punk soda thats a good ass idea with the bag and the hole in the ground. Did not even think of that. I might of if I was on an island tho not sure.

make a spear and get fish. use fish parts plus stealth to catch seagulls, and dried fish guts or bird tendons or treevines for rope. i'd stay in shade during the day, go fishing in the moonlight. for water, collect condensation and dew during the night. if i could make and sustain fire, the seawater may be evaporable and the evaporated water vapour collected, as described above.
it would be worthwhile to explore thoroughly, and consider a trip to the place you may have sunk from, if you are a good swimmer. even if not, tides may yet wash ashore something useful, like wood or cloth. i'd pass the time teaching myself maestro didgeridoo from bamboo, and planning the construction of a hang-glider with which to take off when winds got up: if i was lucky with thermals, i may be able to cloud-hop to civilisation, or to spot a ship, assuming my design was airworthy.
i think food would be ok with all the wildlife, and shelter could be arranged with some ingenuity, but the water would be my eventual downfall - asuming a well could not be dug, or i could not desalinate the seawater somehow. if it became obvious i was gonna die soon, i'd dig my own grave, scratch out some notes, and meet my maker in a ready state.
are we allowed coconut trees? mushrooms? what about luxuries we brought in our pockets? how big is the island? what does the plastic bag smell of?
i wanna escape!
