jars?

ok i got alot of small jars they fit 125ml each a pint fits 500ml and half pint fits 250ml (for all u that use standard system) so the jars about half of a half a pint so a quarter of a pint can i use these jars? or are they to small to get a good harvest

You can use any type of jar or container. I've used everything from the kerr's to large drinking classes, i find the drinking classes colonizie much "prettier" so to say. Just make sure its a wide mouth, and dosent bend in at the top of the jar. Or you wont be able to get your cake out. But any size will works, but assuming the larger the jar/container, the greater of a chance of contamination. But if you are clean, you shouldnt have any problems

alright thnx alot i just incolated 8 quarter pint jars yesterday night - no growth yet but that expected just gonna wait it out and see how this gos

From what I read, 4oz jars are good for creating small amounts of spawn for smaller casings - especially when you're working in conditions that aren't as sterile as you'd like them to be. 4oz'ers don't contain a lot of substrate, so they colonize quickly.

I don't think that I'd bother with trying to fruit them as cakes, though. I can't see how one would yield much that way.
