is there any advantages over each other between making 1/2 pint or pint jars of birdseed vs. brf/verm.

well one of the main advantages of birdseed is that you make alot more substrate, you can make 1/2 pint and pint jars of brf....or you can make quart or more jars of birdseed also with birdseed you can...... have an even casing keep spawning more jars...no more spores have faster colonization i am sure there are more also

Well as always, this is my personal favorite that includes the better of both... grind birdseed to flour... theres your improved potency, use it in place of brown rice flour, use standard pf-tek 1/2pint preperation... Colonize 1/2 pints, when they are ready you can chop them in a chopper into exactly 3 gazillion little peices and use them in place of birdseed in any of the 'grain/spawn' teks. There are many advantages of using this method over quart jars with whole grains, or standard pf-tek / casing... in fact this is the ONLY way to go

i prefer just straight bird seed actually... there really is no need for vermiculite.... this is just my opinion, but birdseed holds moisture great by itself, and verm in the mix just takes away from the overall amount of nutrients that you could have.... just fill up a quart jar about half way with washed birdseed, put enough water to where there is about 1 cm above the birdseed.... let it soak overnight then PC for 70 minutes.... use polyfill in the lids... this works great!
