Mazatapec in standard PF Tek jars?
    #617713 -

I am attempting to grow Mazatapecs in standard PF Tek jars with Brown Rice Flour and Vermiculite.

Is this a mistake? Is this teh wrong substrate for this species?

I innoculated 10 days ago - and still no sign of any growth in 10 seperate jars.

Did i blow it?

Help wpuld be appreciated.

I got the Mazatapec too but I haven't started them yet. I was planning on the PF TEK, didnt see any reason why they wouldnt work. Maybe I dont know enough, but they are P. Cubensis.

maz work fine in normal pf
they are slow. my latest took a very long time. dont worry, the intial growth is very hard to first notice but eventually it takes off. so give it time, if it doesnt go maybe you did something else wrong like over sterilize the syringe. but i wouldnt worry yet. keep the jars in the right warm temp if they are too cool the growth will be extra slow

I have grown out some maz in a mycobag and have just started my third flush. Definately worth while. If you followed the PF tek fully you should have no problems. I ran PF on b+ and tc with good results. I had used rye flour instead of brf with good succcess.
