quick tip on colonizing jars
    #810466 -

I did a little experiment and have learned a valuable lesson. I had twelve one quart jars with rey grain. I injected spores in all of them, then put six in my incubator which consists of two steralite containers one inside the other with water between them and an aquarium heater set at 85 degrees. I set the other six in a steralite container and just set it in my room to colonize at room temperature, approximately 75 degrees most of the day but of course it fluctuates. The jars in the incubator are almost fully colonized, just a few more days and they will be ready. The jars left at room temperature are between 25% to 50% colonized. The moral of the story is.............................build yourself an incubator if you haven't already, unless you enjoy the extra wait.
