colonized jars per area casing Q

I'm a first-timer and I need some help.
I have 10 1-pint jars of either rye-verm or rice-verm. After 3 weeks the best ones are about 15-20% colonized. The worst, I can barely see a film of white stuff on the top. Unknowingly, I used a sporeprint and didn't shake.
I only have about 2 square feet of area I can case in. I am planning to use 4 little sterlite containers to make a verm-soil/ mycelia/ soil sandwich with.
First Q- I think I have too many jars for my casing area- is that true?
Second Q- If the answer to Q1 is Y, then can I combine the best parts of the partially colonized jars to go ahead and case?
Does anyone have a formula that will help here? How much colonized grain per unit area cased?
Thanks for any advice.
Abe

You've plenty of room. You can load that substrate up to 3 inches thick. Skip the bottom layer and case with 1/2 inch of vermiculite. This is the best advice I can give to any first-timer.

Almost forgot, duct tape the sides of those sterlite casing containers. No light allowed.

Thanks for the advice . . . if I can ask another question-
just HOW colonized do these jars need to be before I can case them?
